The Silk Goddess was the name given to the Empress Lady Hsi-Ling-Shih, wife of the mythical Yellow Emporer. Legend has it that she was sipping tea beneath a mulberry tree when a cocoon fell into her cup. As it unfurlded, its threads were so shimmery and exquisite that she went on to develop sericulture and the loom. This one of a kind Silk Goddess Kimono has been hand dyed lovingly with eucalyptus, rust, beefwood and logwood. The juxtaposition between the extra wide silk chiffon sleeves and the short jacket length is lucscious like the Goddess herself.
